The Heavy Metal Tour® engages middle school students BEFORE they make important decisions about their high school and post-secondary courses. It sets the record straight and lets manufacturers show young people the many challenging, fulfilling roles in American manufacturing—career choices right in your community. Since it started in 2012, more than 48,000 eighth graders from around Central Wisconsin have stepped inside the doors of local manufacturers and experienced a unique perspective within the vibrant world of manufacturing. For more than a decade, the Heavy Metal Tour® has represented a dedicated partnershup between CWIMA and area educators that is intended to engage the k-12 population.
